Mental Health First Aid for Local Public Health Agencies

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) empowers Missouri’s Local Public Health Agencies to recognize and respond to mental health and substance use challenges, strengthening workplace wellbeing and community resilience. Funded by the Missouri Department of Mental Health through the Public Health Infrastructure Grant, this initiative aims to train 500 LPHA staff by October 2027 to build a healthier Missouri.

Attend a Scheduled Course

Host a Private or Regional Training

Bring MHFA directly to your group of 15-30 with a Private/Regional Course. Select the time and place (including virtual) that are best for your group. Consider partnering with other LPHAs in your region.

Become an Instructor

Empower your organization and community by attending our train-the-trainer course. Scholarship funding is available for LPHAs.

Who should become an instructor?

Becoming an instructor is a meaningful way to share your knowledge, support others, and grow professionally. You might be a great fit if:

  • You have a foundation in mental health and adult facilitation.
  • You’re committed to teaching at least 3 courses per year.
  • You have the time, interest, and organization support.

What do we provide to selected LPHA recipients?

  • Full Tuition scholarship valued at $1,850.
  • 30+ manuals to be used at trainings you teach by October 2027.
  • Support and technical assistance.
