Application

Becoming an Instructor

Step 1: Successful completion of Mental Health First Aider training. This is a new prerequisite for instructor trainings held in 2024 and beyond. Note: Individuals will be eligible to enroll in the training for which they are MHFA certified (i.e., Adult MHFA = Adult Instructor Candidate Training, Youth MHFA = Youth Instructor Candidate Training.) Step 2: Review the Becoming an Instructor Guide for important details about course curricula, requirements, tuition, and trainings.

Step 3 (Optional): If you need a scholarship, complete this Scholarship Application and wait for a response before moving to Step 4.

Step 4: Complete the Course Application when you are ready to sign up and pay for a class. Early applications are encouraged. Applications close 2 weeks prior to the training date. The application takes about 15 minutes.
