Instructor Application

Applications must be received at least 2 weeks prior to the training. 

If you live or work in Missouri and are interested in becoming an instructor, please complete the following steps.

Step 1: Review the Becoming an Instructor Guide for important details about course curricula, requirements, tuition, and trainings.

Step 2: Fill out the MHFA Instructor Interest Form. Our team will then email you the Application Packet with step-by-step directions for our online application process.  Please review the entire packet thoroughly.

Step 3: Apply online.

Existing Instructors: 
We offer a tuition discount for existing instructors who are already certified in one version of the curriculum and seeking dual certification.  Please complete steps 1 and 2 above, and our team will email you the appropriate application.

Instructor Scholarships

Scholarships are available to offset the cost of MHFA Instructor Training tuition.

Missouri’s Department of Mental Health provides some limited scholarships. If you are in need of a scholarship, indicate this when you complete Step 2MHFA Instructor Interest Form.  Scholarship amounts range from partial to full scholarships.

To be eligible for a scholarship, you must have previously taken a Mental Health First Aid course.
